| | Acàcia Reiche Economics of Science and Innovation '08 Currently: IMIM Foundation | |
| | “My job with the IMIM Foundation is to keep research projects tight with their objectives and budgets. Although this is already a handful, the real challenge comes from coordinating several international partners with their different perspectives. My diverse background allows me to benefit from my experience in research and apply the knowledge provided by the master program.”

| | "I am in charge of the Technology Exploitation & Entrepreneurship Department. This involves trying to transfer technologies the center produces in its R&D projects (European, national or regional) into the market, either by licensing our patents or by creating spin-offs. Basically, my department acts as a bridge between technology and the market, giving a commercial focus to the company's most important R&D projects to help industrial businesses improve their competitiveness. In addition, I advise internal and external entrepreneurs that come looking for technical help to develop their business plans." Top | |

| Daria Zimina Economics of Science and Innovation '08 Currently: Loughborough University

| | "I am a Research Associate and Technology Transfer Manager at Loughborough University. The field I am studying is lean commercial management in the construction industry. I am also finishing a project for the European Union, contributing to the Erawatch database as an expert in Russian R&D policies. This fall I won the competition for the best strategy for Russian R&D and innovation sphere development and later presented it at the Innovation Convention held in December in Moscow." | |
| | Ivan Lorenzo Economics of Science and Innovation '09 Currently: Fundació Caubet-Cimera | |
| | "I came into the MESI program with a PhD in biomedicine. Now I am going to continue my research career as a post-doc working with Daniel Bachiller at the Fundació Caubet-Cimera located in Mallorca (Balearic Islands). Cimera is a research centre of excellence in respiratory diseases. I am going to be working on an amazing project that aims to find a cure for the genetic disease cystic fibrosis. We are trying to develop a protocol with stem cells in order to restore patient lung function. I hope to eventually collaborate on the transfer the results of this research to clinical and market applications." | |

| Fabiana Tito Competition and Market Regulation '08 Currently: Competition Commission (London) | |
| | "I have had a variety of work experiences since graduation. Right after finishing the Master I began a three-month internship at LECG. My tasks were to help construct a huge dataset, collect information on that particular sector, assemble its main regulations, and perform some econometrics analysis in Stata. I also presented two topics at the weekly Friday Lunch Seminar, one about Demand Estimation using the Almost Ideal Demand System (AIDS model) and the other on price discrimination on the European Car Market. In October I joined RBB Economics Consultancy as an associate to assist two partners. I conducted research in literature and economic theory, and in doing so I came up with a good reference that we ended up implementing as our main argument on the project. Now I am working at the Competition Commission in London doing research work in merger guidelines." Top | |

Competition and Market Regulation '08 Currently: LECG | |
| | "My job is to support senior economists throughout the entire course of an antitrust case. My daily tasks include data analysis, literature reviews, and drafting parts of the final report that we will submit to the European Commission and other antitrust authorities." | |
| | Edoardo Campanella International Trade, Finance, and Development '09 Currently: World Trade Organization (Geneva)
| |
| | "I work in the Economic Research Department at the WTO headquarters in Geneva. My task is to help prepare the draft of the World Trade Report 2010, the main publication of the research unit. The topic for this year seems very appealing: we will study the relationship between natural resources and global governance. I will manage data sets, review economic literature, and write content for the publication about specific issues and policy-relevant examples." | |
| | Giovanni Gili Macroeconomic Policy and Financial Markets '09 Currently: Banca d'Italia | |
| | "I am an intern in the Research Department of the Bank of Italy in Rome. I am assigned to the Economic Outlook and Monetary Policy Department and I am currently working on a project about the housing market. The goal is to build some “affordability indexes” that enable to measure the burden for a median (average) household to buy a house in Italy." | |
| | Lluís Mateo Finance '09 Currently: Banc Sabadell | |
| | “I am an intern at the Stock Market Analysis Department of the Asset Management Division of the Banc Sabadell. I observe and analyze stock markets behaviour on a daily basis. I am responsible for a newly developed model of stock scoring created by previous interns. I also provide senior analysts supplementary research when needed. During my time here, Banc Sabadell has also sent me to training courses for the major stock market analysis software out there (Reuters, Bloomberg, Factset), which will be very useful as my career progresses." | Claire André Economics '08 Currently: French Direction of Treasury & Economic Policy | |
| | "The French government has several Regional Economic Services in developing countries to promote cooperation and provide a link with the French chairs in multilateral organizations such as the IADB or the IMF. My office is based in Panama and I am in charge of Panama, the Andean and Caribbean countries. My everyday job consists of analyzing the macroeconomic situation of these countries and addressing some more structural issues. For instance, I have been working on the impact of the international economic crisis on the region: through which channels are countries affected? To what extent are they affected? Which measures did they implement to mitigate the impact of the crisis? In order to prepare those reports for the French government, I have to travel regularly to these countries. During those missions, I meet with Ministers, Central Bank governors, economists, and multilateral organizations’ representatives to assess the situation of each country." | |
| | Jonathan Hersh Economics '08 Currently: PhD, Wharton School | |
| | "For the past year I've worked as a research assistant for Emily Oster at the Becker Center at the University of Chicago. It's been a tremendous experience. We've been researching the effect of peer networks on technology adoption and education in India. Next year I will be entering the doctoral program in Applied Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in the Wharton School. I plan to focus on labor, urban, development, and economic history." | |
