| Thijs van Rens is a researcher at the Centre for Research in International Economics (CREI) and adjunct professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. |

Awards: |
| Thijs van Rens has received a 2009 Kiel Excellence Award in Global Economics Affairs. While at Princeton, he was twice awarded the Towbes Prize for outstanding teaching. |
