- Health technology evaluation and a critical appraisal of current methods
- Identify and integrate ethical issues in health technology evaluation as well as in health policy
- Policy-oriented decision-making, both in the short run (e.g., pricing, reimbursement of pharmaceutical drugs) and in the long run (e.g., R&D incentives)

Minimum academic requirements for the Health Economics master:
- Background in statistics and econometrics (basic level)
- Knowledge of microeconomics (basic level)
The master program in Health Economics and Policy will be offered for the first time in the 2011-12 academic year. Alumni outlook data will be available in Spring 2012.

Structure: 9 months (3 trimesters), full time

Campus: Fall and Spring Terms - Ciutadella (UPF); Winter Term - Bellaterra (UAB)
Degree awarded: Master Degree in Specialized Economic Analysis (awarded jointly with UPF and UAB)
