Letter from the Director Dear Prospective Student, Competition policy has always been a relevant area of research and professional development in economics. Nowadays its relevance has become even greater: news stories addressing high-profile cases of mergers and acquisitions have become increasingly common. Competition cases are often now judged not at the local level but by international institutions, especially the EU. Professionals prepared to address competition and market regulation issues are required both in the public sector – governmental institutions, regulatory or competition agencies – and in the private sector – consultancies or large corporations. Our students will acquire specialist training for immediate post-graduation employment in either the public or the private sector.
There is no sound practice without a solid theoretical preparation. The interaction between economic theory and practice is a defining feature of the Master in Competition and Market Regulation. During their coursework, students look at theory and real-world cases in parallel. To enrich this practical focus even further, the School makes efforts to connect graduates with organizations offering internships in the public and private sectors.
