MSc in Competition and Market Regulation – Description
As competition policy becomes increasingly relevant in both the public and private sectors, there is a great need for professionals prepared to address market regulation issues. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Competition and Market Regulation awarded jointly by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Structure The program is divided in 3 terms. In the fall term, students will acquire basic economic tools. In the winter term, students will study core issues in competition policy and market regulation with the help of leading specialists in each field. In the spring, students will consider real competition policy cases and how regulation works in several specific sectors. For more information, please download the academic calendar. Internships Top students in the program are prepared for the “real world” through participation in summer internships offered by some of the GSE’s partner organizations. Scholarships for Latin American and Portuguese Students Apart from the different aid packages provided by the Barcelona GSE, the Fundación Carolina offers two scholarships specifically for the MSc in Competition and Market Regulation program. To be eligible for these awards, you must: - be a citizen of one of the Iberoamerican Community of Nations (except Spain)
- not be a resident of Spain
Each of these scholarships pays 10,500 € of the program tuition, round-trip tourist class airfare from the student’s country of residence, and medical insurance for the duration of the scholarship. Campus The Master in Competition and Market Regulation is located at the Ciutadella campus at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in central Barcelona. The campus is within walking distance of both the beach and the city's financial, cultural and governmental centers.
