Students enrolled: 48 Average age: 25.5 years old
Academic background: Most students (81%) have undergraduate degrees in Economics or Finance, but others hold degrees in areas such as Business Management, Mathematics, Political Science, Engineering, and Banking. 10 students in the class also completed an advanced degree in these fields (master or PhD) before coming to the Barcelona GSE.
PhD orientation: Many students come into the program seeking a rigorous foundation that will enable them to pursue their studies at the PhD level. Work experience: Many students applied to the master after employment as an economist or as a research assistant at an academic institution. Others (about 30% of the class) began the master directly after completing a bachelor degree and have less then one year of work experience. 
Geographic distribution of students: 85% of students come from outside of Spain. Countries with highest representation are Germany, Spain, Italy, and the United States. The class includes students from 19 different countries.
