This January, two more members of the Barcelona GSE affiliated faculty have been appointed Barcelona GSE Research Professors. This distinction is a joint appointment between the Barcelona GSE and one of the School's founding academic bodies, and was created in the spring of 2009 to increase the critical mass of top scientists at the GSE. Research Professorships are funded by the School's research endowment, which is dedicated exclusively to supporting these appointments.
The new Barcelona GSE Research Professors are Prof. Xavier Freixas (UPF and Barcelona GSE), and Prof. Nicola Gennaioli (CREI-UPF and Barcelona GSE). They join seven other Barcelona GSE affiliated professors who were appointed earlier, including Prof. Albert Marcet (ICREA-IAE and Barcelona GSE) who began his appointment in Fall 2010.
