Dear friends and members of the GSE community,

We are happy to present the first issue of the quarterly newsletter of the Barcelona GSE. These past few months have been an exciting time for the GSE - the School's Scientific Council met in Barcelona, CREA/XREA became the GSE Research Network, and our first academic year came to a close, to name a few happenings.

As summer enters full swing, there are a variety of summer schools, conferences and workshops planned by the GSE and by the four bodies that compose the GSE community. We hope to give you from now on through the newsletter a taste of what is going on in the vibrant community of economists called Barcelona GSE.

Best wishes,

Eduard Vallory
Director-General
