Caterina Calsamiglia is Associate Professor at UAB, Research Fellow of MOVE, and Affiliated Professor of the Barcelona GSE. Her work focuses on the fairness and economics of public policy design. Among others, she has studied how the provision of equality of opportunity can be decentralized through a set of policies; she has worked on the strategic, efficiency and fairness properties of different school choice mechanisms; she has also studied the effects of implementing affirmative action in discriminated tournaments.

Her work includes theoretical, empirical and experimental analysis and has been published in leading economic journals such as the American Economic Review, International Economic Review, Journal of Economic Theory and Economic Theory.
