Omar Licandro

Prof. Omar Licandro

Omar Licandro has been the GSE Research Director since early 2010. He has been a Research Professor at IAE-CSIC since 2009. Before joining the IAE, he was Professor at the European University Institute and the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Senior Researcher at FEDEA.

 

Prof. Licandro is Associate Editor of the Annales d'Economie et de Statistique and of Investigaciones Económicas, and was Associate Editor of the Spanish Economic Review.

 

His main research field is Macroeconomics with special interest in Growth Theory. His main contributions are on vintage capital theory and embodied technical progress. He has recently contributed to the literature on the transition from Malthus to Modern Growth, as well as the competitive role of trade, in particular under firm heterogeneity.
