The Barcelona GSE Coronavirus Response Center is a directory of all the official information about our response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Information for the entire community and the public is listed first, followed by an overview of our response and actions taken for specific groups, with links to more detailed information where needed.

Administrative offices

The Barcelona GSE team is working remotely during regular office hours. You can reach us by email or by our listed phone numbers, where we are able to receive calls as usual.

University campus closings

All Catalan universities have suspended on-campus activities until further notice.

How Barcelona GSE is responding to the needs of our community

We are all concerned about the evolution of the coronavirus and how it is impacting academic life at the Barcelona GSE. Below you can find the latest information about how we are responding to these concerns and diverse needs across our community.

Please read the information on these pages carefully before you contact our offices. We ask that you limit yourself to only the most essential, truly urgent email messages and phone calls. We are a small team trying to provide support in a rapidly changing situation. We ask for your patience so we can give you the most accurate and current information possible.

Applicants to 2020-21 Master's programs
  • Applications are open and processing as usual.
  • The deadline for rolling admissions has been extended until September 1, 2020.
  • No changes to the 2020-21 Master's academic calendar. Classes will be delivered on campus beginning with brush-ups on September 1, 2020.
  • Distance learning support will be available until November 6, 2020 to accommodate late arrivals.
  • A deferral option will be available to all students until November 6, 2020 (see policies below).
  • Students who are prevented from arriving in Barcelona by November 6 due to travel restrictions or visa issues will be eligible for a full refund of tuition fees.

Current students in the 2019-20 Master's cohort

All Barcelona GSE Master’s courses for Term 3 will be conducted online. Exams will also be conducted online.

Professional courses May/June 2020

The course “Quantitative Methods for Competition Analysis” scheduled for May and the course “The Energy Transition: Economics and Policy” scheduled for June have been canceled. New dates for these courses will be announced once it is safe to resume on-campus activities.

Summer School 2020

The 2020 edition of the Summer School has been canceled. The next edition of Summer School will be held June 28 - July 16, 2021.
