New Barcelona GSE Research Professor and Associate RPs: Jan Eeckhout, Joan Llull and Edouard Schaal

Research Professorships are funded by the Barcelona GSE research endowment to increase the critical mass of top scientists in its academic community.
The Barcelona Graduate School of Economics has appointed one new Barcelona GSE Research Professor, Jan Eeckhout (ICREA-UPF and Barcelona GSE), and two new Barcelona GSE Associate Research Professors, Joan Llull (MOVE, UAB and Barcelona GSE) and Edouard Schaal (CREI, UPF and Barcelona GSE).
Research Professor appointments began in 2009 to increase the critical mass of top scientists at the Barcelona GSE. They are joint appointments between the Barcelona GSE and one of its academic units: the Center for Research on International Economics (CREI); the Department of Economics and Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF); the Institute for Economic Analysis (IAE-CSIC); and the Unit of Economic Analysis at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
All Research Professor and Associate Research Professor appointments are funded by the Barcelona GSE research endowment, which is dedicated exclusively to this purpose. With the new additions, there are currently 22 Barcelona GSE Research Professors, seven Associate Research Professors, and five Emeritus Research Professors.
