The past ten years has seen an explosion of interest in large and heterogeneous datasets and the statistical and computational techniques needed to handle them. Most of the innovation in this area has come in statistics and computer science departments, but recently economists have also begun to explore applications of data science in their work. The purpose of this workshop is to provide the opportunity for economists to interact with leaders in data science to explore problems of mutual interest.
