The contribution of innovation to economic prosperity has grown exponentially in recent years with the shift of development economies towards knowledge-based societies. This year’s workshop in Science and Innovation shall be centered on two subareas: the analysis of the fundamental role played by scientific research and scientific institutions and the incentives and the mechanisms designed to improve the funding and development of innovative ideas and processes.
