Economics Summer Schools at Barcelona GSE
The Barcelona Graduate School of Economics welcomes the summer with a diverse range of summer schools in economics and related fields.
These short summer programs are addressed to researchers, professionals and graduate students who want to improve their competences in specific fields of knowledge.
Renowned academics and leading practitioners teach our summer school courses, which draw participants from all over the world.
2010 Barcelona GSE Summer Schools in Economics
The 2010 course offering includes three professionally-oriented summer schools:

The courses are designed with modularity so that participants can customize their own summer school program, tailored to their individual goals and interests.
A fourth summer program, the Zvi Grilliches Research Summer School, has a research focus on science and innovation, with a format similar to a scientific seminar.

New! Microeconometric Lab available to all participants enrolled in one standard BMiSS course.

All Barcelona GSE Economics Summer Schools are given in English.
Location
The Labor Economics, Banking and Microeconometrics summer schools are taught at the Ciutadella campus of the Barcelona GSE, site of the Pompeu Fabra University. The campus is located in downtown Barcelona, within walking distance of both the beach and the city's financial, cultural and governmental centers.
The Zvi Griliches Research Summer School is taught at the Casa Convalescència, one of the buildings located within the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau grounds - declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO for its singular architectural and artistic beauty.
Admissions Process

Application Period Begins: March 1, 2010
Suggested Application Deadline: May 31, 2010

Applications will be evaluated by the program directors and candidates will be informed of their decision. A document will be attached to our response with payment information. At the conclusion of the Summer Schools, participants will receive a certificate for the number of ECTS credits completed. Interested students should check with their universities to see if these credits are transferable.
Research Summer School:
Closing date: March 31
Interested candidates should send an original piece of research, finished or in progress, covering any economic aspect of technological innovation. PhD students must include a letter from their thesis advisor. Please send submissions to research-ss@barcelonagse.eu
The Zvi Griliches Summer School is offering a limited amount of grants to cover travel expenses to PhD students.

CREI (Center for Research in International Economics) is offering the 12th edition of its Barcelona Macroeconomics Summer School (BMSS) from June 21-July 2, 2010.
The Laboratory for Experimental Economics (LeeX) in the UPF's Department of Economics and Business will host its first LeeX International Conference on Theoretical and Experimental Macroeconomics (LICTEM-2010) from June 11-12, 2010.
