Jan Eeckhout is Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Previously, he was a member of the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, and was Visiting Assistant Professor at NYU Stern (2006-2007), Visiting Scholar at MIT (1999), and Marie Curie Fellow of the European Commission at UPF (1998-1999).

Prof. Eeckhout received an ERC Starting Grant in 2008 and an ERC Advanced Grant in 2013.

He was Editor of the International Economic Review from 2008-2011. He is currently Associate Editor of Journal of the European Economic Association and Review of Economic Dynamics. In 2011 he received an Excellence in Refereeing Award from American Economic Review.
